DEPLOYMENT GUIDE
Setup instructions
A guided checklist for bringing BettaBot into your faction’s Discord server.
Requirements
Before setup, make sure you have:
- A Discord server where you have permission to manage integrations and roles.
- A Torn account and an API key with the access required by the features you intend to use.
- Dedicated Discord channels for alerts and reports.
- Permission to manage the roles BettaBot will use.
Invite BettaBot
Use the official BettaBot invitation link supplied by the BettaBot team. Review the requested Discord permissions before authorising it.
Register your Torn API key
Follow the bot’s in-Discord setup flow to register your API key. Only provide the key through the bot’s intended private setup interface — never post it in a public channel.
Use the minimum API access needed for the features you enable. Keep your key private and revoke it if you believe it has been exposed.
Configure your modules
Enable the features your faction needs. Depending on your subscription and bot release, available tools may include:
- Player activity and hospital notifications
- War and enemy movement monitoring
- Organised Crime item and performance alerts
- Scout reports and target assignment
- Inactivity and hitlist monitoring
Some modules may require additional permissions, API access or a paid add-on.
Set channels and roles
Choose where each module should post alerts. Restrict sensitive reports to the appropriate faction roles and give configuration permissions only to trusted administrators.
Final checks
- Confirm the bot can view and send messages in its assigned channels.
- Check that role permissions and channel visibility are correct.
- Test each enabled alert using the supported bot commands.
- Review your server’s API-key handling and access controls.
